Sharing knowledge with our new bookshop and 'book insights'

Knowledge in books by Sue Cartwright, Community Light Worker

We are delighted to present an exciting feature for the Community Assembly of the British Isles (CABI) website for members, international Friends and visitors in the form of an online bookshop accompanied by a new Book Insights series on the CABI blog.

Our aim is to present recommended books that are relevant to our vision, truthful in their intention and enlightening in the insights they reveal.  Books will include favourites containing wisdom that has stood the test of time; new books revealing truths that may have so far been hidden from us; new thinking that looks into how we can create an increasingly positive, localised and cooperative future together; stories that celebrate the innate goodness, integrity and resourcefulness of human nature; and ideas and practices that can help us to become our best and most creative selves.

By featuring books that bring truths to enlighten us, ideas to inspire us and a groundswell of common sense, common values and common purpose to unite us, we hope the CABI bookshop will live up to a quote by Vincent Van Gogh who said:

So often, a visit to a bookshop has cheered me,

and reminded me that there are good things in the world.

Our dedicated bookshop has been set up on a separate platform courtesy of bookshop.org where we may earn a small commission on books sold. This will help us to continue researching recommended books and publish weekly 'Book Insights' with key takeaways that we hope will be helpful.

Book Insights will be requested for all recommended books submitted by the CABI team, members, international friends and special advisors before editing and publishing on the CABI blog.

There is a direct link to the CABI bookshop on the main menu (above) which will take you to our affiliate shop on bookshop.org. This has been set out initially with 'shelves' including:

General Reference - directories, dictionaries, reference books

Human Nature - revealing the innate goodness of human beings

Cultural Values - understanding how we can live harmoniously together

Community Network - exploring ways to take back control of our lives

Natural Health - connecting with our natural world for healing and vitality

Action Learning - turning theory into best practice, learning by doing things

Creative Intelligence - discovering our unique talent and sovereign potential

Spiritual Awareness - learning how to tune into our higher consciousness and beyond

Reading List - new books and recommended books approved and awaiting review

We have many fantastic books to share (old and new) and feel sure you have too! if you would like to submit a book that you think might be helpful together with your 'Book Insight' for our blog, please get in touch.
