Community Assembly of West Sussex

Serving, supporting and protecting our local communities

About us

The Community Assembly of West Sussex is located on the borders of Hampshire to the west, Surrey to the north, and East Sussex to the east. The county town and only city in West Sussex is Chichester, located in the south-west of the county close to the border with Hampshire. Although the name Sussex, derived from the Old English 'Sūþsēaxe' meaning 'South Saxons' the history of human habitation in Sussex goes back to the Old Stone Age. The oldest human remains known in Britain were found at Eartham Pit, Broxgrove.

Community Assemblies are made up of residents concerned about a lack of democratic process at a local and national level, dedicated to preserving and asserting our inalienable rights and obligations to ourselves, the Earth and future generations.
