Community Assembly of Surrey

Serving, supporting and protecting our local communities

About Us

The Community Assembly of Surrey is located in a county with a population of approximately 1.2 million people. It is is the 12th-most populous county in England. The most populated town in Surrey is Woking, followed by Guildford. Surrey is divided in two by the chalk ridge of the North Downs which runs from East to West.  The ridge is pierced by the rivers Wey and Mole which run into the Thames. The name Surrey is derived from Sūþrīge (or Suthrige), meaning "southern region", and this may originate in its status as the southern portion of the Middle Saxon territory.

Community Assemblies are made up of residents concerned about a lack of democratic process at a local and national level, dedicated to preserving and asserting our inalienable rights and obligations to ourselves, the Earth and future generations.
