The Community Assembly of St Breward (Cornish: *Pluw Brewver*) is located in a civil parish and village in north Cornwall, which is part of the Territory of Kernow in the British Isles. The village lies on the western edge of Bodmin Moor, approximately midway between Bodmin and Camelford. The settlements of Churchtown, Row, Limehead, Penquite and Lower Lank are situated within the parish.
The civil parish of St Breward is in the deanery of Trigg Minor and Hundred of Trigg. It takes its name from St Branwalader, a sixth-century Celtic saint, also known as St Brueredus, to whom the parish church is dedicated. The church, of Norman origin and dating from the twelfth century, stands at approximately 700 feet above sea level and is recognised as the highest parish church in Cornwall. An ancient granite cross stands in the churchyard, predating the Norman church.
The River Camel and its tributary, the De Lank River, run through the parish, which extends across a substantial area of Bodmin Moor. The surrounding parishes include Advent to the north, Altarnun to the east, Blisland to the south and St Tudy to the west, with Michaelstow bordering the parish to the north-west.
Brown Willy (Cornish: *Bronn Wennili*), at approximately 1,378 feet above sea level, is the highest point in Cornwall and lies on the eastern edge of the parish, close to Roughtor. These prominent granite hills form part of the dramatic moorland landscape, which contains prehistoric stone circles, burial chambers, ancient settlements and field systems. The parish is also historically associated with granite quarrying, and stone from its quarries was used in major structures including Tower Bridge in London.
Community Assemblies are made up of residents concerned about a lack of democratic process at a local and national level, dedicated to preserving and asserting our inalienable rights and obligations to ourselves, the Earth and future generations.
